Monica Gambino is a fishery economist with an extensive experience in the analysis of socio-economic aspects of Mediterranean and European fisheries.
Since 1999, she has participated in numerous research projects and studies financed by the Italian Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry and the European Commission.
She has been member of the Sub-Committee on Economic and Social Sciences (SCESS), Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC), General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (FAO-GFCM) and has took part in a number of STECF (Scientific, Technical and Economic Committee for Fisheries) working groups of the European Commission and in the Italian delegation in the Fisheries Committee of the OCDE.
In recent years, her research activities has focused on the evaluation of management measures and the development of bio-economic models and statistical methods of validating and verifying data.
