Evelina Carmen Sabatella is a fishery economist at NISEA. She worked for more than 15 years as researcher in the fields of fishery economics and fishery statistics. She has a consolidate experience in the analysis of socio-economic aspects of Italian and Mediterranean fisheries.
She coordinates the Italian National Program for Fishery Data Collection under EU DCF.
She acts a consultant to the GFCM (General Fisheries Commission of the Mediterranean) in the review of the information system for management purposes. Effective member of the Advisory Commission of the European Commission (STECF) from 2007 to 2011, she chaired the working group of the European Commission responsible for the review and harmonization of methodologies for the collection of economic data (STECF / SGECA and PGECON). She participated in numerous research projects under the 5th, 6th and 7th Framework Programmes and, at present, under H2020. She chaired the EAFE (European Association of Fisheries Economists) from 2005 to 2009.
